I agree about the Oline. Whit looked great in all aspects of the game. Faine did as well. Smith reminded me a lot of Willie Anderson in his run blocking. Zietler was good too, but needs to tighten up his technique. When he learns to lower pads a little more, he's going to be really good. Boling was really good in run blocking, inconsistent in pass blocking. But I was most impressed with his pulling. In pass pro, the edges were really good, but the Gs looked shaky in obvious passing situations. I think another good sign, was BJGE. Who i thought showed up better than advertised. And the ability to convert on short yardage against that D was very impressive. I really believe we are going to be able to run at will again. Not that we will go run heavy, but when we need to we'll be able too. Dalton and the WRs showed some real promise, but need to be more consistent. Hawkins, and the blocking in front of him was the high mark of the game to me. Obviously we need more "chunk plays" in the passing game as Marvin Lewis would put it. And as you said, the D was just unfathomable. But I think part of the problem is the are some new players. And also Zim has changed some things up this year. As far as how the coverages are being rolled through the LBs, and how the run was being attacked. I'm sure that it's some just getting the right people in the right positions within the packages. And then the D learning to work together withing the scheme. Most of all I'm wondering what happened with Mays. We came out in the 2nd half starting Miles in his place. Unless I'm mistaken, I didn't see him again on D. I heard nothing of him being injured. He certainly had his share of bad coverages. But he wasn't the only one. I'll be curious to see who is starting next week. Clements played S a lot in the 4th qtr. I have a feeling you are going to see more of him back there.
